Only "tough decisions," as according Imran Khan, can resolve Pakistan's economic troubles.

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated that the new government that has been given a mandate must make "difficult decisions" because the nation's economy is in disarray.

"Whichever new government is elected with the people's support should make difficult choices. While addressing the unveiling of PTI's white paper through video connection, the PTI head stated that this administration lacks the moral power to make difficult decisions.

His remarks come as Pakistan faces the prospect of default, the rupee keeps losing value against the dollar, and foreign exchange reserves hit historic lows, just enough to cover one month's worth of imports. Financial experts have already expressed worries since the overthrow of the prior administration and emphasised that unless the nation has political stability, its financial side will remain vulnerable.

The federal government has planned to close markets and malls by 8:30 pm in order to save approximately Rs62 billion annually as a result of the current financial crisis, but traders have once again opposed the idea.

Imran Khan bemoaned the situation of the economy, emphasising the rise in prices. "The cost of food, bread, electricity, and petroleum goods have all gone up. The nation is terrified of the country's direction, Khan remarked, underlining the fact that the nation's industries are closing down todayHe claimed that around 750,000 Pakistanis have left the country in the last eight months. Khan also stressed the need for increasing the country’s exports. For 30 to 40 years, we did not consider increasing exports. Pakistan won’t be able to stand on its feet for as long as the exports don’t increase. When I met exporters, they informed me about the obstacles,” the PTI chairman revealed.

Circling back to his demand for elections in the country, the former prime minister said: “The economy is linked to politics. It cannot improve without political stability.” Advising the government in the Centre about its decisions regarding the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Imran Khan said that approaching the IMF raised the issue of autonomy. “When going to the IMF, one has to adhere to their orders. You cannot make your own decisions. Instead of going to the IMF, attention should be paid to exporters,” he added.
